Ikualo, a growing Spanish fintech, had rich transactional and operational data but no structured analytics infrastructure. Leadership was making strategic decisions without data, losing time to manual reporting, and had no roadmap for building analytics capabilities that could scale with the business. With regulatory scrutiny of fintech operations increasing, governance and compliance readiness were also critical requirements.
Designed the full data analytics architecture: selected the right tools for each layer of the stack, implemented data ingestion pipelines from core banking and operational systems, built a dimensional data model in BigQuery, and delivered a dashboard suite for executive and operational reporting. Established data governance policies, a data dictionary, and documentation standards. Defined the three-year analytics roadmap including use case prioritisation for artificial intelligence.
Within 6 months, Ikualo went from zero analytics infrastructure to a fully operational data platform with real-time dashboards, automated reporting, and documented governance. Leadership now makes portfolio, risk, and growth decisions with live data. The platform is architected to scale to 10× current data volume without architectural changes, and the governance framework positions the company for upcoming regulatory requirements.
